About Gloucester Brewing Co.

Main Street in Gloucester County. That was always the goal. It’s been a long time coming, but we’re happy to announce that Gloucester is getting its first hometown micro brewery. From humble beginnings inside Brewmaster Myron Ware’s home garage, to becoming the first and only microbrewery above the York River, starting Gloucester Brewing Co. has been quite a journey!

It all started in 1991 when Myron received his first mail-order brew-kit and started developing a taste for not-light beer. After connecting with GBC originator, Mike Brewer, they moved the now blossoming operation to Mike’s garage. With a background in mechanical engineering, Mike has always been passionate about the science of beer and it wasn’t long before they had perfected the taste of GBC’s staples: Brown Ale, IPA and Stout. Myron likes to make beer and Mike—and Myron—like to drink it.

It’s really that simple. Bringing people together is what we’re all about and here at GBC you can always count on three things: a friendly environment, outstanding service and of course, quality beers. So come check us out down on Main Street!

What people say...

The brew, and the atmosphere are country cool, the people are awesome. It is just a great place to hang out, and actually socialize, no need for screen time.
