The DeadRYEz Wins 2nd Place at 2019 Virginia Craft Beer Cup!

Head Brewer, Myron Ware, and M.O.F.O. (Manager of Fluid Ops), Michael Brewer accept an award at the 2019 Virginia Craft Beer Cup
DeadRYEz Wins Second Place
342 beers in 35 categories competed for awards at this year's Virginia Craft Beer Cup award ceremony presented by the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild. Your very own Gloucester Brewing Company received Second Place for their popular rye ale.
The DeadRYEz Rye Ale received silver for the "Alternative Fermentables Beer" category. We are humbled to receive this award, especially to share the category with respectable breweries -- St. George Brewing Company received first place for their Honey Meade Lager and Chaos Mountain Brewing won third for their Glutenless Maximus Pale Ale.
We'd also like to give a shoutout to our Gloucester neighbors over at That Damn Mary Company for receiving third place in the "Amber and Brown American Beer" category for their Easy Money brew.

About Our Rye Ale

The Rye is one of our favorite core beers on tap. This is a lighter brew with a third of the grain bill consisting of rye for additional flavor, and aroma from Nugget and Cascade hops. This beer appeals to those whose tastes are more aligned with the mass-market beers available, and want to enjoy a less bitter profile than an IPA.
Curious about our other recipes, check out our other beers on tap.
